Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Group Class for Anxiety

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Group Class for Anxiety

In this program we will encourage and work with you to let go of the struggle to change unwanted thoughts and emotions. We’ll work on developing your focus on the present moment and acting on what you value most.

Our Team Includes:

  • Your family doctor
  • Behavioural Health Consultant and/or Mental Health Therapist

How it Works:

  • In this 8 week program, participants will be supported and encouraged to let go of the struggle to change unwanted thoughts and emotions, to develop focus on the present moment and to act on what they value most.
  • The classes involve identifying values, creating weekly goals to assist in experiencing anxiety rather than avoiding it, developing a different relationship to thoughts, and mindfulness exercises.
  • Participants are provided with a manual and guidance that fosters psychological flexibility which allows people to move towards their valued path in the service of what matters most to them despite the presence of anxious thoughts and feelings.

Who is this course for?
